Fedor Emelianenko, M-1, press-conference, Marc Ecko

Steve Sievert from Houston Chronicle reported about a press-conference, which will be held on Monday in New York City and which Fedor will be attending.

Fedor will announce his future fight plans and contractual status at the New York City offices of fashion designer Marc Ecko during a media availability, scheduled to begin at 4:30 p.m. CDT. The 31-year-old Russian, who sports a gaudy 26-1 record, has been MMA's most-sought-after free agent since the UFC purchased Pride and dissolved the organization earlier this year. He couldn't come to terms with the UFC, despite a reported contract offer that would have guaranteed him in the neighborhood of $1.5 million per fight.

Over the last couple of weeks, speculation has been rampant on MMA Web sites that Fedor has signed with M-1 Mix-Fight Championship - a Russian-based promotion formerly run by his manager Vadim Finkelstein.

The thing that bothers me is what Marc Ecko, a famous fashion designer, is having to do with this whole thing? Can it be that that rumoured "secret American investor" is Mark Ecko? I personally don't think so, because although he would be a nice fit as the owner of entertainment company (Marc Ecko Entertainment, a full service production company, with a focus on interactive entertainment), he is not that rich.

Or can he be one in the group of different investors? In my opinion it is much more realistic scenario.

Or maybe he is just a new clothing sponsor for Fedor, like he has already been for quite a few UFC fighters (Nick Diaz and others)?

We will know on Monday. But before that date I will post an entry, where I will discuss all possible scenarios of domination of a new Mixed Martial Arts organization. Be sure to check this site later and share your opinions in comments.
