Fedor Emelianenko's interview. Family. Map of Russia

Fedor's official web site has published a new interview with some new (shocking?) details revealed. Some of them.

  • Vasilisa, Fedor's second daughter, was born on 29th of December. Height - 46 cm (18.1 inches), weight – 2 kg 600 g (5.7 pounds).
  • Fedor's ways with Oksana, his first wife and the mother of his daughter Masha, have separated. It happened two years ago, when Oksana and Masha have moved to the city of Saint-Petersburg. Fedor still keeps in touch with Oksana and Masha.
  • Fedor has a new family with Marina, who is obviously Vasilisa's mother. She and Fedor have known each other for quite a long time already. She is from the city of Tula, but will soon move to Fedor's home in Staryi Oskol.
  • Fedor felt the difference in size when he tried to take Hong Man Choi down, but failed and took Fedor down himself. Then Emelianenko realized that he doesn't have enough weight and physical strength, so the only option was to use skills.
  • Currently Fedor is building a house. In the beginning of February he will once again attend a Russian Championship of Combat Sambo (held in Saint-Petersburg); in the middle of February Fedor will take part in President's Cup of Sambo. Additionally he will of course train for his fight in the USA and will spend time with Vasilisa.

This is a map with all Russian cities important to Fedor Emelianenko:
  • Staryi Oskol - a town where Fedor and Aleksander Emelianenko grew up and where Fedor lives. Getting here requires an overnight train from Moscow to Belgorod, then a three-hour ride.
  • Belgorod - an important local city. The administrative center of Belgorod Oblast.
  • Tula - Marina is from this city
  • Moscow - capital of Russia. An overall important city.
  • Saint-Petersburg - a culture capital of Russia. Vladimir Putin was born here. Ex-wife Oksana and first daughter Masha live here. Fedor's brother Aleksander Emelianenko also lives in Saint-Petersburg. Vadim Finkelstein's base as well as home for Red Devil Sports Club.

You can read a full interview translated by google.

P.S. If you look at the map, you will see a city a Turku (to the west from Saint-Petersburg). This is where I (the author of this site) live. Hi! :)

Wow, so Fedor divorced/remarried? It would be interesting to know if he fought anywhere near the time he separated from his wife, to see if it affected his performance at all. I would expect something like that to affect anyone; but Fedor seems unshakeable!

PS. Hello in Turku! Your site is amazing, the best place to find news of my favourite fighters! I really appreciate the translations!

I don't know anything about the changes in legal status (divorced/remarried). But it doesn't matter anyways - the most important thing is reality. And reality is that Fedor has a new family now.

Well, you can look it yourself: http://www.sherdog.com/fightfinder/fightfinder.asp?FighterID=1500
He fought Zulu two years ago. There has also been some talk that Fedor looked "human" at the time of Mark Hunt bout. Maybe it was it. Probably not, through, because he had some injuries at the time.

Thanks for the feedback! I really appreciate it! :)

Marina is the name of Fedor's older sister. It is also the name of his brother's wife. I am sure Fedor would like to protect his wife and daughter so maybe Oksana really lives in Tula and not St.Petersburg which is what is reported. Tula is much closer to where Fedor mostly trains and where his family is from. Oksana was Fedor's highschool sweetheart. It does seem rather strange if as rumor says he found a new girlfriend and in without getting married after two years has a child. For Oksana to have another child, she would be 30 years old. Still young enough.
I am going on the hunch that there was a loss in translation. Wikipedia should have this edited out until things are absolutely confirmed.
